Job summary

BILL is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to design, build, and scale our accounting software sync solutions. You will lead a team, mentor engineers, and contribute to end-to-end outcomes for our BILL payment network.

The role focuses on scalable architecture, two-way data sync with major accounting software, and improving user experience through new microservices in AWS. A strong background in Java, databases, and modern CI/CD practices is essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience.
• Ability to lead a team of developers in building complex software solutions.
• Proven ability to take the product through all stages of development from concept to launch.
• Expertise with all aspects of SDLC including code reviews, unit testing, automation testing and CI/CD.
• Experience with system design.
• Expert‑level knowledge of Java, SQL and NoSQL databases.
• Business acumen - able to leverage the platform to solve business problems.
• Passion for great products and building great customer experiences.
• Experience with dev tools like Splunk, Datadog, Mixpanel, LaunchDarkly etc.
• Experience leveraging Gen AI technologies to accelerate software engineering by designing prompts, rigorously evaluating outputs, and integrating LLMs
