Job summary

JumpCloud is hiring a Staff Software Engineer for JumpCloud India. This remote-first role focuses on building scalable cloud-native platforms, guiding architecture, and driving best practices.

You’ll lead major initiatives, mentor engineers, and collaborate across product and UX teams to deliver high-impact software solutions. You will operate in a distributed, fast-moving environment with a strong emphasis on reliability, performance, and cross-team alignment.

Qualifications

• 12+ years experience as an engineer and leading complex engineering projects.
• Experience with cloud technologies, microservices, SAAS architecture.
• Strong knowledge of Go and familiarity with Java, Typescript or other languages.
• MDM & Endpoint Expertise: deep domain knowledge across macOS, Windows, iOS, Android.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, GCP or Azure, Kubernetes, and CI/CD (GitHub Actions).
• Experience with distributed systems and databases.
• Experience designing solutions involving services, frontend and database.
• Leadership and collaboration to drive complex projects across teams.

Responsibilities

• Regularly tackle the largest and most complex problems on the team; serve as a technical leader on cross-functional projects.
• Collaborate with UX and Product Managers to define requirements with limited visibility.
• Decompose complex problems into simple, scalable solutions.
• Exert technical influence to build highly available, reliable, performant systems.
• Work with other Principal Engineers and Architects to drive shared strategy.
• Partner with engineering and product management to empower cross-team initiatives.
• Mentor others on advanced technical issues and career development.
• Balance technical leadership with strong business judgment in technology choices.
