Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the DevX team focused on core developer infrastructure, CI pipelines, and remote development environments in New York City. You will collaborate with multiple engineering teams to improve speed, reliability, and scale while shaping the long-term direction of our developer ecosystem.

The role emphasizes mentoring engineers, setting engineering standards, and delivering high-visibility impact across the organization.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience designing, scaling, and operating critical developer infrastructure in production.
• Strong programming in Go or Python.
• Experience with Bazel and distributed build execution.
• Ability to mentor engineers and lead technical initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Architect the long-term technical strategy and roadmap for core developer infrastructure, including CI, SCM, and development environments.
• Build and maintain robust, scalable infrastructure with speed, safety, and reliability.
• Lead onboarding and remote development environments to reduce time-to-first-commit.
• Standardize build and CI patterns, reduce developer friction, promote high standards.
• Provide technical mentorship and conduct rigorous design reviews.
