Job summary

Huntress is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the modernization of detection engines and data pipelines in a remote-first environment. You will guide cross-team workstreams, write and review production Go code weekly, and ensure reliable operation under load while preserving integrity across evolving systems.

You will own end-to-end aspects from pipeline design to observability, collaborating with SOC and security teams.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience designing, building, and operating distributed systems at scale.
• Proficiency in Go and multi-layer stack work.
• Experience replacing or re-architecting live high-throughput systems with safe cutovers.
• Familiarity with building observable, well-instrumented pipelines and alarm systems.
• Leadership across teams without formal authority.
• Judgment on production quality and ship decisions.
• Experience with AI coding tools and security outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead major workstreams to modernize detection engines and pipelines.
• Ensure reliability and predictable behavior under load with latency measurements and bounded spikes.
• Define data contracts and validation to keep old and new paths equivalent after updates.
