Job summary

Huntress is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for the Detection Platform, focused on Go-based distributed systems. You will lead major workstreams, write and review production code, and shape the platform to support Sigma v2 detection with scalability and reliability.

The role emphasizes hands-on architecture, observability, and collaboration across teams, with a remote-friendly environment and a competitive compensation package.

Qualifications

• Deep experience designing, building, and operating production distributed systems at scale, primarily in Go.
• Experience replacing or re-architecting live high-throughput systems without disruption.
• Strong exposure to high-volume data pipelines and behavior under load.
• Good operability instincts with strong observability and alerting.
• Hands-on leadership across teams and a security-conscious mindset.

Responsibilities

• Lead modernization of the detection engine and pipelines and validate equivalence to legacy paths.
• Ensure reliable behavior under load with end-to-end latency measurement and bounded spikes.
• Drive data contracts and schema validation to support multiple detections across services.
