Job summary

OneTrust seeks a Staff Software Engineer to lead the Consent & Preferences team in Atlanta, GA. The role owns technical direction, architecture, and cross-team collaboration to scale a privacy‑tech platform used by thousands of organizations.

You will mentor engineers, shape engineering standards, and apply AI‑assisted tooling to accelerate delivery while maintaining reliability and security in a SaaS environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Deep expertise in frontend and/or backend technologies relevant to OneTrust's platform, including cloud architecture experience.
• Experience with CI/CD and orchestration frameworks.
• Hands-on experience using AI-assisted development tools in a professional setting, with enthusiasm for applying AI to engineering work.
• Demonstrated track record leading technical initiatives spanning multiple engineers or systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture and design for systems with significant scope and blast radius, ensuring decisions hold up under growth, compliance, and reliability constraints.
• Paying attention to application performance.
• Exercise judgment on where AI-assisted tooling accelerates delivery and where deeper human design thinking is required.
• Partner with Product, UX, and other engineering teams early, shaping problems before solutions are locked in.
• Build working relationships and technical credibility beyond your immediate team.
• Mentor senior and mid-level engineers on technical judgment and how to use AI tooling effectively.
