CVS Health is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer to lead the design and delivery of scalable healthcare tech on a cross-functional team. You will architect microservices, drive API strategy, mentor engineers, and partner with product and security for secure cloud-native solutions.

In this role you will work with Java, Spring Boot, and modern cloud technologies on GCP, building secure, observable systems that support interoperability across health data formats such as FHIR/HL7.

Qualifications

• 7+ years professional software engineering in enterprise environments.
• 7+ years Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, RESTful services.
• 5+ years designing microservices architectures.
• 3+ years with Apache Kafka or similar event-streaming tech.
• 3+ years with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps.
• 3+ years with containerization/orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
• 2+ years with public cloud platforms (GCP/AWS/Azure).

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and develop high-performance microservices using Java, JEE, Spring Boot, and REST.
• Lead event-driven services using Apache Kafka and ensure API governance.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to engineering standards and reviews.
• Design ETL pipelines and lead data migrations to cloud or cross-system migrations.
• Build CI/CD automation and deploy on Google Cloud Platform.
