Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer to join a high‑energy digital team. You will shape architecture, mentor engineers, and deliver cloud‑native healthcare solutions that scale across platforms, interfacing with product, UX, and security teams in an Agile environment.

You will lead distributed systems, API governance, data migration, and secure integrations with EHR systems, while advancing observability and DevOps practices in a healthcare context.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience in enterprise environments.
• 7+ years of experience with Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, and RESTful services.
• 5+ years designing and implementing microservices architectures.
• 3+ years with Apache Kafka or similar event-streaming technologies.
• 3+ years with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• 3+ years with Docker and Kubernetes.
• 2+ years with public cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure).

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and develop high-performance microservices using Java/JEE and Spring Boot.
• Lead development of event-driven services using Apache Kafka.
• Own API strategy for RESTful services with versioning and governance.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to standards, reviews, and best practices.
• Design ETL pipelines and data migrations to cloud or legacy systems.
• Collaborate with compliance and security on HIPAA-aligned data flows.
• Build and maintain CI/CD automation and DevOps practices.
• Deploy and operate services on Google Cloud Platform (GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud Build, Pub/Sub).
