Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer to lead distributed systems and microservices on a cross-functional product team. You will architect, design, and deliver scalable healthcare technology solutions, mentoring engineers and partnering with stakeholders to ensure secure, cloud-native applications.

You will guide data migration, HL7/FHIR integration, and DevOps practices while working in an Agile environment to advance digital health experiences for patients and providers.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience in enterprise environments.
• 7+ years of experience developing applications using Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, and RESTful services.
• 5+ years of experience designing and implementing microservices architectures.
• 3+ years of experience with Apache Kafka or similar event-streaming technologies.
• 3+ years of experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps practices.
• 3+ years of experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• 2+ years of experience working with public cloud platforms, including GCP, AWS, or Azure.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, and develop high-performance microservices using Java, JEE, Spring Boot, and RESTful services.
• Lead development of event-driven services using Apache Kafka.
• Own API strategy for RESTful services with backward-compatible versioning and governance.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to engineering standards and reviews.
