Job summary

CVS Health Digital is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer to lead design and delivery of scalable healthcare tech on a cross-functional team. You will architect microservices, guide data migration, and drive secure, cloud-native solutions with Java, Spring Boot, and modern cloud tooling.

You will mentor engineers, own API strategies, and collaborate with product, UX, and security stakeholders in an Agile environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
7+ years of professional software engineering experience in enterprise environments.
7+ years of experience with Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, and RESTful services.
5+ years of designing and implementing microservices architectures.
3+ years of experience with Apache Kafka or similar event-streaming technologies.
3+ years of CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and DevOps practices.
3+ years of Docker/Kubernetes
2+ years of cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, Azure).

Responsibilities

Architect, design, and develop high-performance microservices using Java, JEE, Spring Boot, and RESTful services.
Lead development of event-driven services using Apache Kafka and related patterns.
Own API strategy for RESTful services with backward-compatible versioning and governance.
Mentor engineers and contribute to engineering standards and reviews.
Design and implement ETL pipelines and data migrations (cloud-based).
Implement security, observability, and DevOps practices across SDLC.
