Job summary

Lambda in Bellevue/ SF/ SJ is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to define the technical vision for the next-gen GPU/CPU host lifecycle and compute control plane. You will lead cross-functional teams, bridging BIOS/firmware, Linux kernel internals, DPU utilization, and cloud provisioning at massive scale.

You will guide crucial architectural decisions, ensure reliability, and establish standards for enterprise-grade cloud software, while mentoring senior engineers across multiple teams.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience with compute control plane distributed systems.
• Deep expertise in durable execution models and distributed systems.
• Fundamental knowledge of software defined networking for multi-tenant distributed systems.
• Proven track record in semiconductor hardware enablement and deployment.
• Experience deploying new data centers into a global compute platform.
• Proficiency in one or more of the following programming languages: C/C++, Rust, Python, Go.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a highly available GPU/CPU host lifecycle control plane.
• Guide decisions on semiconductor architecture, BIOS/firmware, boot methods, and DPU utilization.
• Lead multi-tenant security model for compute platform.
• Provide technical leadership across teams to deliver infrastructure roadmaps.
• Collaborate with product and data center teams to translate requirements into scalable capabilities.
• Translate customer requirements into concrete engineering deliverables.
• Set engineering standards and lead design reviews for cloud software at scale.
