Job summary

Lambda, The Superintelligence Cloud, is shaping the future of AI cloud infrastructure. This Staff Software Engineer role focuses on the compute pillar, driving the lifecycle of GPU/CPU host instances and a robust control plane at massive scale.

You will steer decisions across BIOS, firmware, Linux kernel internals, and DPU utilization, ensuring enterprise-grade SLAs for top AI researchers and CSP-style operations.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience building compute control planes and distributed systems for large-scale cloud platforms.
• Proven mastery of durable execution models and scalable cloud provisioning.
• Strong knowledge of Linux kernel internals, BIOS/firmware, and hardware integration.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement a highly available host and instance lifecycle control plane.
• Guide decisions on semiconductor architecture, BIOS settings, and DPU utilization for performance and reliability.
• Lead cross-functional teams to define infrastructure roadmaps and technical strategy.
• Provide technical mentorship to senior engineers across multiple teams.
• Translate customer requirements into scalable infrastructure capabilities and deliverables.
• Set engineering standards and lead design reviews for mission-critical cloud software.
