Job summary

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a Software Engineer, Staff with strong C/C++ and Qt experience to contribute to avionics and Navy defense projects. You will design, develop, test, and integrate software for aircraft autopilots and related systems.

You will participate in ground and flight testing, create GUIs, and work in a hard real-time environment while following DO-178C. A DoD security clearance is required to work on mission-critical programs.

Qualifications

• BS Computer Engineering or Computer Science degree required.
• Minimum 3 years of experience with C/C++ and Qt.
• Minimum 1 year of related work in aircraft avionics.
• Knowledge of Real Time Operating Systems.
• Active DoD Secret Security Clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop software for aircraft autopilots and avionics systems.
• Participate in ground and flight testing of developed systems.
• Develop GUI using Qt as part of simulators and lab environments.
• Develop avionics software in a hard real-time environment.
• Follow DO-178C processes for software development.
