Job summary

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a Software Engineer, Journeyman, to design, develop, and test avionics software for flight-critical systems. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to deliver real-time software for aircraft autopilots using C/C++ and the Qt framework.

The position requires a BS in computer engineering or CS (MS preferred), 6+ years with C/C++ and Qt, 3+ years in avionics, and an active DoD Secret clearance. DoD program experience and AS9100D/DO-178C compliance are valued.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Engineering or CS required; MS preferred.
• 6+ years of experience with C/C++ and Qt.
• 3+ years in avionics; 1 year with a Real Time Operating System; active DoD Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop software for aircraft autopilots and avionics systems.
• Participate in ground and flight testing of the developed systems.
• Work with the latest, cutting edge technology.
• Integrate hardware/software in our System Integration Lab (SIL).
• Develop avionics software in a hard real-time environment.
• Ensure DO-178C compliance and AS9100D quality standards.
