Job summary

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to develop software for aircraft autopilots and avionics in a real‑time environment. You will collaborate with a cross‑disciplinary team to advance avionics software and GUI interfaces within a DO‑178C framework.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in C/C++ and Qt, with prior avionics exposure and an active DoD Secret clearance. AMERICAN SYSTEMS offers employee ownership and a comprehensive benefits package.

Responsibilities

As a Software Engineer, Staff, you will:

• Develop software for aircraft autopilots and associated avionics systems.

A week in the life of a Software Engineer, Staff, includes:

• Design, develop, document, test and debug software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions for aircraft autopilots and associated avionics.
• Work with systems engineers, aerospace engineers, electrical engineers, developers and others to develop fully digital autpilot systems.
• Develop Graphical User Interfaces (GUI) as part of our simlation and System Integration Lab environments.
• Develop software using C/C++ and the Qt framework.
• Develop avionics software in a hard real‑time environment.
• Develop avionics software in accordance with DO-178C.

Pay Transparency Statement

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee‑owners. The salary range for this position is USD $95,000.00/Yr. - USD $110,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
