Job summary

Nubank in the United States (remote eligible) seeks a Staff Software Engineer to lead the Product Workflow Reinvention initiative, shaping the end-to-end technical architecture and building internal platforms shipping weekly product improvements.

As the foundational engineer on this greenfield program, you will implement AI-native workflows, scale orchestration, and partner with senior leaders to align technical strategy with product goals.

Qualifications

• Proven track record designing and operating complex backend or platform systems.
• Ability to set technical direction with RFCs and design docs.
• Experience leading 0-to-1 platform initiatives.
• Experience building internal tools used by product teams.
• Strong understanding of AI models and agentic workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end architectural design of orchestration layer.
• Design AI-native platform primitives and state machines.
• Make agents reliable and affordable with cost-aware patterns.
• Ship first-generation workflow tools to remove slow steps.
• Operate in a high-autonomy, greenfield environment.
