Job summary

Nubank is seeking a Staff Mobile Software Engineer to lead the mobile architecture and build the AI Private Banker experiences across iOS and Android.

You will mentor engineers, partner with product/design/backend/AI teams, and own production quality, performance, accessibility, and reliability.

This hybrid role is based in Palo Alto, California, with a strong emphasis on delivering trusted consumer experiences at scale.

Qualifications

• Founding or lead mobile engineer on a new consumer product with end-to-end ownership.
• Deep production mobile app experience on iOS or Android.
• Defined architecture and direction for a meaningful product area.
• Created shared UI components and mobile foundations adopted by teams.
• Strong product judgment; partners with designers to deliver polished experiences.
• Built complex stateful mobile flows with performance and accessibility focus.
• Staff-level influence across engineering; mentors peers.
• Hands-on leadership while guiding technical decisions.

Responsibilities

• Set the technical strategy and architecture for the AI Private Banker mobile experience.
• Lead the design, implementation, launch, and operation of a new conversational consumer product across iOS and Android.
• Partner with product and design to translate AI capabilities into simple, useful interactions.
• Define handling of dynamic responses, latency, interruptions, errors, recovery, feedback, and control.
• Build reusable UI components and foundations for AI experiences across Nubank teams.
• Own production quality across performance, accessibility, testing, instrumentation, observability, and release readiness.
