Job summary

ParentSquare is seeking a Staff Software Engineer who operates with urgency and a multiplier mindset for AI-forward architecture. You will accelerate development with AI-enabled workflows and ship clear, simple functionality at pace.

As a fully remote team, you’ll collaborate with product, design, sales and leadership to drive impactful features that improve student/parent communication and engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science or related field.
• Mastery of Ruby, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, and PHP.
• Deep knowledge of distributed systems and relational databases (MySQL/Postgres) and AWS (Aurora, RDS, SQS).
• AI-native workflow mindset using AI to bypass boilerplate and accelerate development.
• Excellent ability to communicate with non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Cross-functional leadership with product, design, sales, and marketing.
• AI evangelism to boost sprint velocity and code quality.
• Build scalable systems with strong security for school data.
• Establish a unified technical direction and culture of excellence.
• Review PRs and design future system architectures, including monolith evolution.
