Job summary

Gusto, a leading payroll, benefits and HR platform, is seeking a seasoned full-stack software engineer for its Growth team. You will shape AI-powered onboarding and lifecycle experiences, focusing on a Voice Agent for onboarding and AI-driven email experiences across the funnel.

You’ll own end-to-end production workflows, drive measurable customer impact, and collaborate across Product, Data, Design, and Marketing.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software development experience building customer-facing product experiences at scale.
• Experience building full-stack systems (frontend, backend, production services).
• Growth-focused product background (onboarding, communications, lifecycle).
• Strong applied AI fluency including prompt design and content generation systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate AI-powered Growth experiences for onboarding and lifecycle engagement.
• Own AI Voice Agent development including workflows, integrations, safety controls, and production reliability.
• Build and scale AI-driven email systems across the funnel with workflows and experiments.
• Collaborate with Product, Data, Design, Marketing and Platform teams to improve acquisition, activation, and conversion.
