Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Staff Engineer to lead architecture, development, and scaling of core applications, bridging backend data systems, AI capabilities, and frontend experiences. You will design dashboards, build microservices, and integrate with third-party systems while mentoring teams and embedding AI features to automate workflows.

You will focus on Payer Operations, optimizing metadata, automating lifecycle contracts, and measuring payer performance through secure, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of professional software engineering experience focused on full-stack development and scalable apps.
• Frontend: modern JS/TS frameworks and data visualization libraries (D3.js, Recharts, Highcharts).
• Backend: design scalable microservices and event-driven architectures.
• Data integration: relational/NoSQL DBs, ORMs, high-volume feeds.
• AI integration: OpenAI/Anthropic, LangChain, vector databases.
• DevOps/Cloud: AWS/Azure/GCP, CI/CD, containers, IaC (Terraform/CloudFormation).
• Strong problem-solving and the ability to communicate architecture decisions.

Responsibilities

• Architecture & Full Stack Development: lead end-to-end design of scalable web apps from frontend to backend.
• Dashboarding & Data Visualization: build interactive dashboards surface insights efficiently.
• Backend & Data Integrations: create secure APIs and integrate diverse data sources and third parties.
• AI Enablement: embed AI/ML features to automate workflows and provide analytics.
• DevOps & Cloud Infra: drive CI/CD, containers, and IaC for reliable releases.
• Operational Excellence: implement monitoring and performance profiling across the stack.
• Leadership & Mentoring: guide frontend, backend, and DevOps engineers; groom backlog.
• Self Starter: navigate ambiguity and ask questions to deliver iterative solutions.
