Job summary

Nubank is seeking a Staff Software Engineer, AI & Credit Card Platform, to lead cross-squad architecture and drive AI-enabled credit card launches in new markets from our Palo Alto hub. You will prototype, code and guide country-launch capabilities while aligning Product, Engineering, Legal and Compliance across countries.

This hands-on role requires deep backend and distributed-systems expertise, strong leadership without authority, and a bias for action in ambiguous, high-growth environments.

Qualifications

• Staff-level engineering experience across multiple teams and domains.
• Experience designing reusable platform solutions adopted by other teams.
• Hands-on with agentic AI, including coding agents, tools, skills, context engineering or RAG in production or near-production environments.

Responsibilities

• Build the Country Launch Engine to accelerate new market launches of credit card products.
• Automate country readiness translating regulations and market capabilities into architecture.
• Drive AI transformation across CC Factory, establish baselines and measure impact.
• Develop domain-grounded AI systems for credit card configuration and launches.
• Define AI risk and governance with human-in-the-loop controls and auditability.
• Lead technical architecture across squads (Collateral Lines, Cashback, other platforms).
• Partner with Product, Engineering, Business, Legal, Compliance and platform teams on direction and launches.
• Stay hands-on, prototyping and coding when needed while adapting to priorities.
