Job summary

CVS Health Digital is seeking a Staff Software Development Engineer who will act as both a Technical Lead and Individual Contributor to build our next‑generation platform supporting health care digital initiatives. You will create PoCs, guide delivery excellence, and partner with IT leaders to enhance our digital assets.

You will design scalable solutions, participate in architecture discussions, mentor peers, and drive code quality through reviews and best practices in a fast‑paced environment.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of enterprise solution delivery in a large-scale distributed environment.
• 5+ years of Java development experience.
• 5+ years of enterprise cloud initiatives and cloud computing technologies.
• 5+ years designing and developing modern microservices and APIs.
• 3+ years of CI/CD pipeline automation.
• 3+ years in an Agile development environment.
• 2+ years of Agentic AI / Generative AI experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement efficient, scalable solutions that meet business requirements.
• Contribute to solution design and architecture discussions with architects and senior engineers.
• Provide input on feasibility, performance, and scalability.
• Participate in code reviews and uphold coding standards and quality.
• Communicate with team members to align on decisions and insights.
• Advocate best practices and adopt new technologies to improve productivity.
• Share knowledge through code reviews, talks, and workshops.
• Collaborate with others to implement complex features and high‑quality code.
• Mentor junior developers to grow their technical skills.
