Job summary

Loopio is seeking a Staff Software Developer to lead architecture and end-to-end delivery of complex features for our web platform. You will design reusable frameworks, drive system-level decisions, and build safeguards to ensure high quality software.

Collaboration with product, design, and ML teams is essential as we evolve AI-powered features and knowledge-graph capabilities. Remote-first with global collaboration across Canada, UK, India, and beyond.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software development experience.
• Experience leading architectural discussions and cross-team decisions.
• Strong backend/API design with Python/Java and scalable services.
• Hands-on with cloud infra (AWS/Azure) and DevOps practices.
• Frontend experience with React/JavaScript.
• Experience with databases (MySQL) and data systems.
• Exposure to AI/LLMs and integrating AI APIs.
• Mentoring engineers and driving engineering process improvements.
• Nice to have: microservices, event-driven architectures and knowledge graphs.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and end-to-end delivery of complex features for Loopio's web platform.
• Develop reusable frameworks and libraries to scale patterns across teams.
• Influence system-level design and architectural decisions across teams.
• Build tooling and safeguards to reduce bugs before customer release.
• Contribute to AI roadmap by evaluating models and defining evaluation guidelines.
• Drive technical design discussions and facilitate decisions in ambiguous situations.
• Collaborate with ML team to productionize AI agents and knowledge-graph features.
• Engage with customers to gather feedback and iterate with product teams.
• Mentor engineers through reviews and coaching to promote knowledge sharing.
