Georgetown University’s Prisons and Justice Initiative seeks a licensed independent clinical social worker to support reentry program participants, students and staff. The Staff Social Worker identifies needs, assesses goals, and connects clients with community resources while advocating for them with agencies and service providers in the DC area.

The role requires collaboration with the Managing Director, Reentry Services, and program managers for Pivot and MORCA-Georgetown Paralegal Program,

Qualifications

• Master's degree in social work is required.
• LICSW in Washington, DC required.
• 5–7 years of work experience.
• Familiarity with DC and regional social services required.
• Clinical and case management experience required.
• Experience planning and standardizing assessment and crisis responses to acute and emergent client needs.
• Experience managing and documenting cases and/or processes, producing reports and maintaining files.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Excellent organizational and communications skills—both written and verbal.
• Ability to work with diverse backgrounds, including formerly incarcerated individuals.

Responsabilités

• Identify those who need help and assess client needs to formulate goals.
• Refer clients to community resources such as childcare and healthcare.
• Advocate for clients at government and non-profit organizations and follow up on progress.
• Collaborate with program staff and community partners to coordinate services.
• Maintain confidential client records and documentation in compliance with policy.
