Under the direction of the Assistant Chief Budget Officer - Expenditure (Staff Services Manager II), the Staff Services Manager I (Specialist) serves as the Budget Specialist and is responsible for preparing and organizing the annual budget development cycle for the California Department of Insurance (CDI). This includes preparing, developing, and administering of the department’s annual budget with the Department of Finance (DOF) via FI$Cal - Hyperion. Responsible for developing and maintaining the Financial and Business Management Division - Budget and Revenue Management (FBMD-BRMB) systems and converting FI$Cal reports for the Budget Office. Responsible for developing, preparing, monitoring, and presenting financial data for executive management and Branches/Programs. Responsible for preparing and monitoring the monthly/quarterly reviews of expenditures for the complex Enforcement Branch’s multi-million budget which includes the Fraud Division and Investigations Division. Coordinates with internal and external agencies and serves as the subject matter expert on fiscal-related topics and issues.
