Job summary

Rivian in Irvine, CA, is seeking a Staff Service Engineer for Thermal Management Systems. You will own end-to-end serviceability initiatives across current and future vehicle programs, leading cross-functional collaboration and driving measurable improvements in service part strategy, tools, and processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with 8+ years in service, aftersales, and engineering environments; Mechanical/Automotive preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Thermal Management Systems.
• Proven track record leading design-for-serviceability initiatives with broad impact.
• Experience with CAD/PLM tools CATIA V5/V6 and 3DEXPERIENCE/ENOVIA.
• Cross-functional collaboration and communication; ability to influence Design, Manufacturing, Quality, and Field Service.
• Experience with Jira, Confluence and change/issue management tools.
• Ability to stand or walk 8–10 hours daily and work in office environment.

Responsibilities

• Lead development of service parts strategies for thermal systems across platforms.
• Represent Service Engineering in Thermal architecture reviews for serviceability requirements.
• Drive serviceability improvements using design data and field data to prioritize opportunities.
• Develop, validate and maintain service repair procedures for thermal components.
• Manage engineering changes and assess their service impact on parts, tools, and repair procedures.
• Collaborate with Design, Reliability, Service Documentation, and others to manage changes and downstream service impact.
• Support root-cause investigations, Field Service Actions, and Technical Service Bulletins related to thermal issues.
• Define special tools and diagnostics for thermal system service and repair.
