Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies is seeking a Thermal Controls Engineer to join our team in Irvine, CA. You will develop and refine control algorithms for thermal management of powertrains and battery packs, translating high-level requirements into controller software and hardware interfaces for testing and release.

You will collaborate with design, engineering and manufacturing teams, build models and simulations, and support SIL/HIL and vehicle-level tests while contributing to

Formación

• Master’s in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 1 year of experience in thermal development and analysis.
• Experience with control-oriented dynamic models and testing.
• Familiarity with heat exchangers, compressors, valves, pumps, and fans.

Responsabilidades

• Develop and refine control algorithms for thermal management of powertrains and battery packs.
• Translate requirements into controller software, sensors, and actuators; drive testing and release.
• Create system boundary diagrams, state machines, and sequence diagrams.
• Support functional safety work and test coverage for HIL/SIL/vehicle tests.
