Job summary

Jane is seeking a staff-level security engineer to identify cross-cutting themes in vulnerabilities and work with product teams to design secure architectures. You will lead initiatives such as private package repositories, maturing SCA tooling, and evolving development lifecycles and GitHub workflows.

Qualifications

• Staff-level application security experience owning initiatives end to end with development teams.
• Real development background; reading drafts and assessing fixes in Rails, or willingness to work in Rails codebase.
• Experience finding systemic vulnerability patterns and driving architectural fixes with engineering teams, not just reporting findings.
• Strong relationship skills with developers and stakeholders; making security digestible and constructive.
• Hands-on experimentation with AI in security, ideally building automation and securing AI features in products.

Responsibilities

• Turn recurring AppSec findings into architectural fixes by identifying themes and partnering with product teams.
• Lead product security projects end to end, including private package repositories, maturing SCA tooling, and lifecycle/workflow changes.
• Build AI into team workflows, enabling AI-assisted vulnerability analysis and draft fixes near the codebase.
• Champion secure development across Jane by building trusted relationships with developers and coaching teams on risk.
• Own security initiatives and represent Product Security in cross-functional groups, mentoring teammates as the senior engineer.
