Job summary

LiveKit is seeking a Staff Rust engineer to build the Rust SDK and high-performance core modules powering multi-platform client SDKs. You’ll influence architectural direction and drive real-time performance across many platforms.

You will mentor engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and own testing, CI/CD, and releases for Rust projects, shaping the long-term technical roadmap.

Qualifications

• Strong expertise in Rust with production-quality libraries or SDKs.
• Experience delivering multi-platform client SDKs (mobile, web, embedded).
• Experience with testing, CI/CD, and release practices in Rust ecosystems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain the LiveKit Rust SDK and shared core modules.
• Mentor engineers and promote code quality and shared practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure consistent developer experience.
• Own testing, CI/CD, and releases for Rust projects.
• Profile and optimize real-time, low-latency performance.
