Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a senior backend engineer to design, build, and operate the Content Library's core Rust services handling hundreds of billions of objects. You will own features end-to-end, from design to deployment, and support the Python userland for developers across the company.

You will lead cross-functional projects with ML, search, product, and data teams, driving performance, cost-efficiency, and governance while mentoring colleagues and shaping the platform's

Qualifications

• 10+ years of professional software engineering experience building backend or data-intensive systems.
• Production experience writing Rust and strong proficiency in Python.
• Deep understanding of storage and data fundamentals: object storage (S3), Parquet/Arrow, and relational databases (PostgreSQL/MySQL).
• Experience designing high-throughput, low-latency services and operating them (metrics, tracing, alerting).
• Proven technical leadership across teams, driving architecture and mentorship.
