Job summary

Boston Dynamics is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer to join the Atlas team to evolve our advanced humanoid robot. You will design compact, reliable electronics used in dense electromechanical systems and work hands-on in the lab from test setups to fully integrated robots.

You will collaborate across disciplines, with strong circuit analysis fundamentals, POWER electronics, and high-speed data interfaces.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 5+ years of experience designing electronics.
• Experience with power electronics and motor drives.
• HDI and heavy copper PCB layout experience.
• Strong Linux command-line and programming skills (Python/C++/MATLAB).

Responsibilities

• Design electronics for advanced robotic actuators and end-effectors.
• Develop circuit designs for motor drives, power supplies, sensing, microcontrollers, and high-speed data links.
• Analyze and optimize circuits using SPICE and simulations.
• Create PCB layouts for compact, highly integrated assemblies (HDI, flex/rigid-flex).
• Collaborate with mechanical engineers to miniaturize PCBs and improve reliability.
• Perform failure analysis and debugging of complex systems.
• Prepare design and test documentation and conduct EVT.
