Job summary

Symbotic LLC in Austin, TX is seeking a staff robotics engineer for its Mobile Robotics Software team. You will own the design, development and testing of control algorithms for mobile robot navigation and manipulation.

You will deliver robust robotics software in a cross-functional environment with experts in sensor fusion and real-time systems, communicating clearly across disciplines. Travel up to 10% may be required.

Qualifications

Masters or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Robotics, Aerospace or related discipline.
Minimum 6 years of demonstrated experience in development of algorithms for mobile robot applications.
Experience delivering robotics software deployed in real world.
Knowledge of real-time operating systems and threading/communication for RT environments.
Proficient in C++ embedded coding and design patterns.

Responsibilities

Own design, development and testing of control algorithms for mobile robot navigation and manipulation.
Deliver robotic control software within a cross-functional team of roboticists and software engineers.
Apply sensor fusion estimation techniques for autonomous navigation and manipulation.
Collaborate with engineering and product teams on planning and development.
Ensure software quality, reliability and testability in the codebase.
Troubleshoot production or design issues and propose performance improvements.
Travel up to 10% as required.
