Job summary

Symbotic is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to lead the Fleet Controls team, designing real-time software to orchestrate fleets of autonomous robots in automated warehouses. You will mentor engineers, drive performance improvements, and ensure robust systems across multiple deployment sites.

Requires 5+ years of software development, 1+ year in tech leadership, and strong C# and event-driven experience. Travel up to 10% may be required; hybrid work model in place.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, mathematics, or a related STEM field.
• At least 5 years of professional software development experience.
• At least 1 year of experience in technical leadership or team lead role.
• Strong object-oriented design and programming concepts; C# experience preferred.
• Experience with asynchronous or multithreaded programming and event-driven architectures.

Responsibilities

• Design & Development: Build real-time, high-performance software for managing fleets of mobile robots.
• Performance Optimization: Analyze fleet performance and improve key metrics.
• Software Excellence: Develop high-quality, robust software in a fast-paced environment.
• Technical Leadership: Mentor junior engineers and lead technical efforts across projects.
• Issue Resolution: Identify root causes of software performance issues.
• Testing: Develop and maintain unit and system-level tests for production software.
