Williams Bros. Health Care Pharmacy in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Respiratory Therapist to assess patient needs and select equipment or services accordingly.

You will involve patients, families, and caregivers in the care plan and educate them on proper use and maintenance of equipment according to policy. The role requires collaboration with the patient’s physician to adjust plans as conditions change and to document assessments and plans of care.

Job description

The Respiratory Therapist will assist in collecting information and/or authorization if referral is from party other than the physician. He/she will asses the needs of the patient and the best choice of equipment and/or services to meet those needs. The Respiratory Therapist involves the patient, family, and/or caregiver in the selection process. You will also instruct patients in the proper use and care of equipment according to the written policies and procedures for the equipment. The Therapist will communicate with the patient's physician on changes in patient's condition and/or needs and will carry out adjustments to the patient's plan of care or treatment.Will work in the Indianapolis location.

Education:

Graduate of an accredited respiratory care program.

Job tasks:

• Instructs patients/clients in the proper use and care of equipment according to the written policies and procedures for the equipment.
• Communicates with the patient's /client's physician on changes in patient's condition and/or needs and carries out adjustment to the patient's/client's plan of care/treatment. Completes patient/client accounts paperwork, including plan of care/treatment and assessments.
• Acts as a liaison between the company and the patient/client, family, caregiver, physician and other health care agency and staff of the case.
• Conducts, participates and attends educational meetings and seminars for health care workers, patients/clients, families, caregivers, physicians and interest community members on areas of need.
