The University of Maryland is seeking a Staff Relations Consultant to join University Human Resources. The role will administer labor agreements, handle grievances, conduct workplace investigations, and provide guidance on interpretation of labor agreements and policies to ensure compliance.

The successful candidate will bring a bachelor’s degree and at least five years of HR experience in employee or labor relations, with strong analytical and communication skills.

Formación

• Knowledge of HR policies and procedures, and applicable laws and regulations.
• Knowledge of employment laws and regulations, including collective bargaining.
• Proficiency with MS Office and Google Workspace.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to analyze and solve problems.
• Ability to interpret and apply policies and regulations.

Responsabilidades

• Administer labor agreements and respond to grievances and employee complaints.
• Conduct workplace investigations and use conflict resolution techniques.
• Represent the University in grievances by bargaining and non-bargaining unit employees.
• Provide analysis, consultation, training, and coaching on labor agreements and policies.
• Support development of positive employee relations.
