Job summary

University of Maryland, College Park is seeking an experienced Labor Relations Consultant within the University Human Resources Labor Relations team. You will support the Program Director, foster positive relationships with labor unions, and help resolve disputes while ensuring compliance with labor laws and collective bargaining agreements.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree and at least five years of HR experience in employee or labor relations, with additional education substitutes

• A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Five (5) years of professional HR experience in employee or labor relations.
• Additional work experience may substitute on a year-for-year basis up to four (4) years of education.

Job Overview

University Human Resources (UHR) seeks an experienced HR professional to serve as a Labor Relations Consultant within the UHR Labor Relations team. The Consultant will provide professional support to the Program Director, Labor Relations, fostering positive relationships with labor unions, resolving disputes, and ensuring compliance with labor laws, regulations and collective bargaining agreements.

• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, regulations and laws.
