Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Float in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Job Description & Requirements

This position is eligible for a SIGN-ON BONUS up to $10,000, Student Loan Forgiveness up to $20,000, Tuition Assistance up to $7,200, and RN Referral $5,000 for Advocate Aurora Teammates. We are also military/veteran friendly.

Aurora Health's WI Float Pool (Multi-Site) seeks Medical Surgical (Med Surg) and Critical Care (ICU) RNs in the Greater Milwaukee Market and Northern Wisconsin (Bay Area).

• ICU Float Pool: Requires 2 years of recent ICU RN experience
• Med/Surg Float Pool: Prefer 18 months of Med/Surg RN experience

Perks include experience in travel nursing without travel, flexible work locations, competitive compensation with differentials, mileage reimbursement, and flexible self-scheduling with minimal on-call.

Night shift positions require scheduling 2 Fridays and 24 hours of weekends every 6 weeks, all self-scheduled.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patient needs, plan and implement care, involve patients and families, and maintain therapeutic relationships.
• Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition, coordinate care, and mobilize resources.
• Implement safety strategies, assess learning needs, and coordinate discharge planning.
• Evaluate patient outcomes, support quality improvement, and participate in professional development.
• Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, demonstrating leadership and communication skills.
• Promote a culture of safety, report safety events, and participate in safety initiatives.
• Adhere to ethical standards, participate in quality initiatives, and maintain professional certifications.

Licensure, Education, and Experience

• RN license issued by the practicing state
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from AHA
• Completion of an accredited nursing program
• Typically 1 year of clinical nursing experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Holistic patient care, situational awareness, and critical decision-making
• Proficient in electronic medical records and communication skills
• Ability to develop rapport, collaborate, and prioritize tasks effectively

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform necessary physical tasks
• Exposure to chemicals, blood, body fluids, and communicable diseases with proper protective equipment
