Our Advanced/Complex Cardiac unit is seeking dynamic newly licensed and experienced nurses to join our team of nursing excellence. Join Aurora St. Luke's, a SIX TIMES Magnet designated facility.

10 T is a 24-bed unit caring for patients with advanced heart failure, chest pain, pre-open heart surgery, pulmonary hypertension, and medical overflow patients. Also, patients who received a pacemaker, defibrillator, procedures to correct arrhythmias such as an ablation, and medication loading for arrhythmias.

Second Shift Differential $2.25/hr
Weekend Differential $2/hr

Major Responsibilities:

• Use the nursing process to assess patient needs, plan and implement interventions, and evaluate care effectiveness. Include patients and families in planning and care, maintaining therapeutic relationships.
• Anticipate and recognize significant patient condition changes, providing ongoing assessment and appropriate actions.
• Implement strategies to reduce patient risk and increase safety; assess and individualize patient and family learning approaches.
• Coordinate discharge planning with an interdisciplinary team, applying evidence-based practices.
• Evaluate patient, team, and unit outcomes, taking action when needed and supporting quality initiatives.
• Communicate effectively, promote collaboration, and assume leadership roles in the care team.
• Promote safety culture by identifying threats, reporting safety events, and implementing corrective actions.
• Apply ethical decision-making, respect peers and disciplines, and participate in team-based care.
• Engage in quality improvement and professional development activities.
• Provide age-specific care, demonstrating knowledge of growth and development principles.

Licensure, Registration, and Certification:

• RN license issued by the state of practice
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association

Education:

• Completion of an accredited nursing program

Experience:

• New grads welcome

Skills & Abilities:

Certification Addendum:

• Maintain annual hospital certification requirements.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, lift, and perform physical activities as specified, including lifting up to 50 lbs, and working in potentially hazardous environments.
