Job summary

Qualifications

• Current Illinois RN license
• CPR/BLS card current
• ACLS card current (within 6 months of hire)
• ACLS & PALS card (within 6 months of hire)
• TNCC or TNS required within 1 year of hire/residency graduation (effective 6/2026)
• ECRN within 24 months of hire/residency graduation (effective 6/2026)
• NRP within 6 months of hire
• NRP & PALS within 6 months of hire
• Fetal Monitoring – Monitoring and NRP within 6 months of hire

Responsibilities

• Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs
• Establish a compassionate environment to provide emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patient and families
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate an individualized care plan with the health care team
• Provide health teaching and counseling to promote health
• Demonstrate clinical judgment and critical thinking to recognize and report changes in patient condition
• Complete accurate and timely documentation in the medical record
• Contribute to policies and procedures to support patient safety and quality of care
• Supervise and delegate to licensed practical nurses and unlicensed staff
• Advocate for patients by collaborating with health professionals
• Complete required education, competencies, and licensure on time
• Float to other SIH nursing units within competency
