Lunar Outpost Inc. seeks a Staff Real-Time Embedded Software Engineer to lead RTOS driver development for space robotics avionics. You will oversee board bring-up, periperal drivers, and safety-critical software architectures, mentoring engineers in a fast-moving startup environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in computer/electrical engineering or related field.
• 5+ years embedded software or mission-critical robotics experience.
• 3+ years RTOS development and BSP customization.
• Hands-on board bring-up for avionics/robotics hardware.
• Strong C skills for embedded systems and real-time debugging.
• Experience with SPI, RS485/422, ADCs, CAN, Ethernet, SMP.
• Knowledge of safety-critical software architectures.

Responsibilities

• Lead RTOS driver and app development for space robotics avionics.
• Design and maintain RTOS software for space systems.
• Perform board bring-up and peripheral driver development.
• Implement task, memory, and time partitioning per safety standards.
• Develop drivers for rover avionics subsystems.
• Collaborate across systems, hardware, and robotics teams.
• Support hardware/software integration using models and HIL testbeds.
• Document OS configuration and procedures to flight-certifiable standards.
