Lunar Outpost Inc. in Colorado is seeking a Staff Real-Time Embedded Software Engineer to lead RTOS driver and application development for advanced space robotics. You will mentor engineers and ensure safety-critical standards are met across crewed and autonomous operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer or electrical engineering or related field.
• 5+ years developing embedded software or mission-critical robotics.
• 3+ years RTOS development, configuration and BSP customization.
• Hands-on board bring-up experience for avionics or robotics hardware.
• Strong proficiency in C for embedded systems.
• Experience with SPI, RS485/422, ADCs, CAN; ethernet and SMP; safety-critical software.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the technical authority for RTOS driver and application development.
• Design, implement, integrate, and maintain RTOS-based software for space avionics.
• Perform board bring-up for new avionics hardware and peripheral drivers.
• Implement task scheduling and memory partitioning aligned with safety standards.
• Develop and integrate device drivers for rover avionics subsystems.
• Collaborate with hardware and robotics teams to define fault-tolerant configurations.
• Support hardware/software integration using models, simulators, and HIL testbeds.
• Document OS configuration and procedures to flight-certifiable standards.
