Job summary

Lunar Outpost, a leader in space robotics, seeks a Staff Real-Time Embedded Software Engineer to develop drivers and RTOS applications for space robotics and avionics. You will lead driver and RTOS development efforts, mentor engineers, and ensure safety and reliability for crewed and autonomous operations on the Pegasus LTV program.

This role requires strong C for embedded systems, board bring-up, and real-time debugging, with collaboration across hardware, systems, and robotics teams to meet

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required in engineering or related field.
• 5+ years embedded software or avionics experience in space or mission-critical robotics.
• 3+ years RTOS development and BSP customization.
• Board bring-up experience for avionics/robotics hardware.

Responsibilities

• Serve as technical authority for RTOS driver and application development for robotics avionics.
• Design, implement, integrate, and maintain RTOS-based software for space avionics.
• Perform board bring-up for new avionics hardware and peripheral drivers.
• Implement task scheduling, memory/time partitioning per mission safety standards.
• Develop and integrate device drivers for rover avionics subsystems.
• Collaborate across teams to define fault-tolerant OS configurations.
• Support hardware/software integration using models, simulators, and HIL testbeds.
• Document OS configuration and procedures to flight-certifiable standards.
