Ursa Major is seeking a Staff Nozzle Design Engineer to lead the mechanical design, analysis, integration, and testing of advanced vectoring nozzle assemblies for SRM applications. The role requires deep hands-on experience with moveable nozzle architectures and a track record of bringing TVC propulsion systems through static and flight tests.

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering required.
• 7+ years of rocket propulsion design experience; at least 4 years in moveable nozzle/TVC design.
• Experience designing flexseal/flexible bearings, trapped ball joints, or split-line nozzle architectures.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain DoD Secret Clearance required.

Responsabilidades

• Moveable nozzle design for SRMs, applying expertise in flexseal, trapped ball, and split-line joints.
• Lead integration of EMA/LVDT sensors and actuation loops.
• Perform kinematic, clearance, and structural analyses; optimize components for high-pressure, high-thermal environments.
• Select advanced materials for high-temperature environments.
• Write and execute test plans for TVC subsystems and lead rocket motor static tests.
