Job summary

Ursa Major Technologies in Colorado is seeking a Staff Nozzle Design Engineer to lead mechanical design, kinematic analysis, integration, and testing of advanced vectoring nozzle assemblies for SRM applications. The role requires deep hands-on experience with moveable nozzle architectures and a proven track record bringing TVC propulsion systems through static and flight testing.

You will interact with suppliers and customers, manage EMA/LVDT sub-tier components, and contribute to PDR/CDR

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• 7+ years of rocket propulsion design experience.
• At least 4 years in moveable nozzle or TVC design.
• U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance.

Responsibilities

• Moveable nozzle design for SRMs with flexseal, trapped ball, and split-line joints.
• Lead TVC component integration with EMAs and LVDTs sensors.
• Perform kinematic and structural analyses and duty-cycle modeling.
• Select materials for high-temp environments and flexible joints.
• Author test plans and lead bench and static-test verification.
• Interface with EMA/LVDT suppliers and present data at milestones.
