Job summary

Ursa Major is seeking Senior Design Engineers to advance SRM TVC design and verification in Colorado. You will own TVC system architecture, lead mechanism and actuation design, and guide test campaigns from component tests to full-scale demonstrations on site.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with thrust vector control systems or related actuation hardware.
• Experience with SRM TVC design and integration into solid rocket motor architectures.
• Ability to perform first-order sizing and kinematics/dynamics analyses.
• Proficiency with CAD and analysis tools (FEA, dynamics, basic thermal).
• Strong written and verbal communication for cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Own the design of SRM TVC systems and related components.
• Translate requirements into robust, manufacturable TVC designs.
• Execute design trades across architectures and materials.
• Support TVC design verification through testing campaigns.
• Provide hands-on guidance on build and integration on the shop floor.
• Collaborate with analysis, manufacturing, test, systems, and supply chain teams.
