Job summary

Valon, a Series C fintech startup, is seeking a Staff Product Designer to lead end-to-end design for our Product Infrastructure team. You will shape the core foundations of Valon's in-house mortgage servicing platform, creating scalable design systems and empowering other product teams to move faster.

You will partner with cross-functional stakeholders, translate complex problems into elegant user-centered solutions, and mentor designers while advancing product quality.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of product design experience in fintech preferred.
• Portfolio demonstrating design fundamentals and systems thinking.
• Experience shipping end-to-end product experiences from concept to launch.
• Ability to navigate ambiguity and bring clarity to evolving spaces.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design of foundational platform capabilities and our design system.
• Contribute to product strategy with a user-centered perspective and prioritization.
• Drive deep user understanding through research for mortgage servicing operators and technical teams.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver generalized tools and systems that reduce redundancy and ensure consistency.
• Mentor designers and cross-functional partners to raise product quality and craft.
