Job summary

Multi Media LLC is hiring a Staff Database Engineer to own the reliability of Chaturbate’s PostgreSQL environment. You will operate across production clusters, optimize performance, and guide upgrades with minimal disruption.

You will work with SRE to strengthen disaster recovery, improve observability, and build automation. This hands-on role focuses on resilient data infrastructure as the platform scales.

Qualifications

• 10+ years operating PostgreSQL in large-scale production environments.
• Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL reliability, replication, backup, recovery, and HA.
• Experience preventing, diagnosing, and resolving complex production DB incidents.
• Experience planning and safely executing upgrades, migrations, and maintenance.
• Strong understanding of PostgreSQL internals: WAL, autovacuum, indexing, locking, query planning, and connections.
• Experience supporting high-volume workloads and large data sets.

Responsibilities

• Own the day-to-day reliability of Chaturbate’s PostgreSQL environment.
• Address reliability, performance, and scalability risks before impact.
• Improve HA, replication, backup, restore, and DR capabilities.
