Job summary

Sentry is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to tackle challenging infrastructure and distributed systems problems in our US-based teams. You will have autonomy to identify key technical problems, lead end-to-end solutions, and influence engineering decisions beyond your team.

You’ll design, build, and operate reliable, scalable systems that support Sentry’s products. Expect ownership of complex projects, hands-on coding, and collaboration across engineers to raise engineering standards.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience designing and implementing technically complex systems.
• Hands-on with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Strong architectural judgment and ability to evaluate tradeoffs.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate reliable, scalable distributed systems.
• Own technically complex projects from design to production.Lead technical solutions across teams.
• Review designs, contribute production-quality code, and resolve complex issues.
• Mentor engineers and influence engineering standards across the org.
