Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with distributed systems or infrastructure.
• Strong fundamentals with proficiency in Python, Go, Java or similar languages.
• Experience designing and implementing technically complex systems and delivering meaningful outcomes.
• Hands-on experience with cloud services such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Ability to independently own complex projects from design through production.
• Deep technical experience in cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, data infra, or reliability.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate reliable, scalable distributed systems that support Sentry's products and teams.
• Own technically complex projects from problem identification to deployment and production operations.
• Solve engineering problems involving architecture, performance, scalability, reliability and efficiency.
• Make thoughtful architectural decisions balancing performance, maintainability, and long-term scale.
• Identify challenges and opportunities for improvement, even without established solutions.
• Stay hands-on with production-quality code, review designs, and resolve complex issues.
• Collaborate with engineers and leaders across teams to influence direction and standards.
• Share knowledge and mentor other engineers to strengthen practices across the organization.
