Zusammenfassung

Tempo Software is seeking a Staff Developer to join the Platform Team. You will architect and build scalable infrastructure powering Tempo Timesheets, Capacity Planner, and Financial Manager for Jira Cloud.

You will mentor engineers, define standards, and deliver reliable platform services used across multiple cloud products. The role emphasizes holistic system thinking, developer experience, and solving complex scale challenges with a remote-first, globally distributed team.

Qualifikationen

• 8+ years of experience in server-side development with strong Java/Kotlin
• Experience building platform/infrastructure systems at scale
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, messaging, caching, data consistency
• Strong experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and container orchestration
• Extensive experience with AWS services (DynamoDB, Lambda, S3)
• Experience with gRPC/Protocol Buffers and cross-language APIs
• Proficiency across Java/Kotlin, Go, Python, TypeScript
• Experience with RabbitMQ, Kafka, or similar
• Strong DB skills including SQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, performance-focused
• Experience building developer tools, SDKs, or internal platforms
• Track record of driving technical initiatives and engineering direction
• Excellent communication and ability to explain complex concepts
• Experience mentoring engineers across teams
• Degree in CS/SE or equivalent
• CS fundamentals: algorithms, data structures, system design
• Upper-intermediate English
• Autonomy in decision-making and delivery
• Observability tools experience like Datadog/Prometheus

Aufgaben

• Design, build, and maintain platform infrastructure across languages (Java, Kotlin, Go, Python, TS)
• Own and evolve gRPC protocol definitions and bindings
• Develop infrastructure libraries for RabbitMQ, Redis, DynamoDB, MongoDB
• Build and operate core platform services including org management and Jira Cloud integration
• Drive technical standards and architectural decisions
• Mentor engineers across teams on platform usage
• Improve developer experience with better tools and self-service
• Ensure reliability, performance, and security via monitoring
• Collaborate with product teams to turn needs into platform capabilities
• Lead cross-team technical initiatives
• Write clean, tested code with good coverage
• Review code and uplift the team
